US Senator: the return of Crimea to Ukraine may already be in the past

In the United States seriously discussing the return of the Crimea to the Ukraine, said a member of the foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate, Democrat Robert Menendez.

"We are no longer talking about Crimea. I believe it is in the past", — quotes the words of Senator RIA Novosti.

Thus the Senator noted the fact that the hearings with participation of representatives of the state Department and the Pentagon, the question of the situation in Crimea is almost never discussed in comparison with other issues that cause US concern.

Crimea and Sevastopol became part of Russia following a referendum in March 2014. Reunification with Russia was supported by 96.77% of Crimeans and 95.6% of Sevastopol.
