Obama arrived in Hanover for talks with Merkel


The plane of U.S. President Barack Obama landed in Hanover, Germany. On Sunday, the US President and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel open the world's largest fair of industrial technologies and investment, reports RIA Novosti.

In Hanover, Obama will hold talks with Merkel, and will meet with representatives of German business circles. The U.S. President will talk about the benefits of creating a transatlantic free trade area (TTIP), which will unite the markets of Europe and North America.

On the eve in the city passed protests against the signing of the agreement establishing the TTIP, which brought together tens of thousands of people. Residents of Germany are concerned that the establishment of a transatlantic free trade area would lead to losses for European farmers.

They also fear that the market of the United Europe will fill the cheaper and less quality products from overseas. On Sunday, the city planned new protests.
